PRESENTATION:
The brothers, Eros and Lucio Mirko Furia, coming from generations of vine growers and wine producers now have carried out their dream by having purchased the property Salvaterra situated in Prun di Negrar (VR); this property consists of 15 hectare of vineyard at a height of 500 meters above sea level, particularly adapt for the production of grapes designated to dry up, a technique applied for the production of wine with a high structure and body, such as the Amarone della Valpolicella Classico.
The property is situated on top of a hill with a fascinating view onto Verona and surrounds, in the center, reached via an avenue of hundred-year of cypress trees, we find the ancient 16th century Villa Salvaterra. This villa, placed higher than all others of the Valpolicella valley, is characterised by eight coupled arches positioned into mirrors marked and separated by pilaster strips of wall; the court yard is plastered and houses two different towers with swallow tail pinnacles which are placed in a strategic position for visual communication with the entire valley of Negrar.
The vineyards are characterised by native grapes such as Corvina and Rondinella which allow us to produce Amarone wines of the highest quality, the time resistant and particularly adapt for aging Valpolicella Superiore, and in particular the IGT of the Venezie, the ‘Lazzarone', an illegitimate offspring obtained by a production procedure kept jealously secret by the Furia brothers.
The owners wanted to unite the uniqueness of the landscape, the great accuracy of the cultivation of their vines, approximately 5200 per hectare, the strong meticulosity in the production of their wines using the experience handed down by generations, availing on modern equipment and techniques but preserving the particularity of their products respecting the culture and tradition of our magnificent Valpolicella.
