San Floriano meets the Slow Food Earth Market
EVERY THIRD SUNDAY OF THE MONTH FROM 9:00AM TO 1:00PM.
At the Slow Food Earth Market of San Floriano in Valpolicella we can find a variety of producers, farmers and artisans of the food from the province of Verona e the surrounding areas of Mantua, Brescia, Trentino and Vicenza.
There are over thirty family-run businesses that take part in this event and they are all careful to the preservation of biodiversity and sustainability. They offer a variety of products according to the season such as vegetables and fruit, pasta, pulses, flour, rice, bread and bakery products, meat, fish from the lake, oil, beer, wine, cheese, cured meats, honey, jams, mushrooms, truffles and saffron.
The event intends to promote food culture throug the three words of Slow Food, namely "Good, Clean and Fair", with the aim of making consumers aware of the importance of their actions in everyday life and in the act of purchasing.
At the same time the Earth Market of San Floriano wants to enhance the Valpolicella's food and wine tourism sector through events such as tastings of seasonal food, guided tours through the hills of Valpolicella, workshops, art and music exhibitions. History, culture and food intertwine in order to raise awareness of our beautiful region.
The Market is organised by the association Slow Food Garda Veronese in collaboration with the NOI Association of San Floriano and the municipal administration of San Pietro in Cariano.
It is held every third sunday of the month from 9:00am to 1:00pm. It can be easily reached by car since its proximity to the ring road or also by public transport leaving from Verona.
