PRUN QUARRIES
It is a non-profit association, in continuous and constant activity for over 30 years. She has always been involved in the social and cultural sphere, also with the redevelopment of the “L. Modena”, to which a sports tournament is dedicated every year in the month of July. Prun, a small town between Lessinia and Valpolicella, with an asset of inestimable value for the community and for history: the quarries in tunnels.
The association has always felt the urgent need to start a recovery project for the Prun stone quarries to preserve them over time, promote them, make them known and re-evaluate them.
To this end, it has conceived and organized a series of cultural and social initiatives, including photographic exhibitions, seminars, a competition for ideas for restoration, the Stone Festival, themed conferences and guided tours. These activities aim to raise public awareness of the historical and artistic importance of the Prun stone quarries, and to stimulate greater appreciation and interest in this unique heritage.
