La Magnalonga della Valpolicella

The Magnalonga della Valpolicella, organised by the Associazione Vini Classici della Valpolicella (Valpolicella Classic Wines Association), offers a pleasant 11 km non-competitive walk, open to all. The route winds through the nature and food and wine of the San Pietro in Cariano area. During the event, participants stop at various stops to taste the dishes on the menu accompanied by the renowned Valpolicella wines.
The itinerary includes 8 stops where it is possible to savour the typical products of Valpolicella and admire the evocative landscapes offered by the region. Along the route, musical entertainment and jugglers add a touch of joy to this walk.
Departure - Giardini Aido
Departure at the sound of a cannon in groups accompanied by a CTG guide. While waiting to leave, Redoro prepares bruschetta for us. The REDORO Frantoi Veneti company is located in Grezzana, in the heart of Valpantena, north of Verona.
Cycle and footpath to the Via Santa Sofia (SP4) crossing, continuing along Via Alberto Bolla and Strada Fonda, which leads directly to the Speri winery.
First stop - Azienda Agricola Speri
The Magnalonga starts at Speri Viticoltori, a historic winery in the Valpolicella Classica area. For over seven generations, the Speri family has been cultivating its own vineyards and native grape varieties, producing organic wines that reflect their deep connection with the land and local winemaking traditions.

Second stop - Tommasi Viticoltori
The second stop is at Tommasi Viticoltori, a historic winery founded in 1902 in the heart of the Valpolicella Classica area. Now run by the fourth generation, the Tommasi family continues a long winemaking tradition, producing high-quality wines that are an authentic expression of the Verona area.

Third stop - Villa Lebrecht
Villa Lebrecht is nestled in the hills of Valpolicella, an elegant historic Venetian residence surrounded by a centuries-old park. Built between the 16th and 19th centuries and now a university dedicated to viticulture, the villa offers a journey through the history and architectural charm of the area.

Fourth stage - Corte Salvaterra
In Cengia, in the heart of Valpolicella, Corte Salvaterra welcomes participants to the historic Villa Giona, surrounded by olive trees, cypresses and centuries-old vineyards. Amidst glasses of wine that tell the story of the area and picturesque views of the estate, this is an opportunity to experience the tradition and conviviality typical of the Magnalonga.

Fifth stage - Villa Betteloni,
In San Pietro in Cariano, we come across the park of Villa Betteloni, an elegant 14th-century Venetian villa surrounded by large gardens, centuries-old trees and DOCG Classico vineyards. With its panoramic views and lush greenery, it is an ideal place for a convivial break immersed in the history and nature of Valpolicella.

From the sixth to the eighth stage - Piazza Donatori di Sangue and Giardini Aido
The Magnalonga ends at the stands of non-profit associations with a tasting of Recioto, a dessert and a final coffee in good company, celebrating the taste, conviviality and unique atmosphere that only a day in the hills of Valpolicella can offer.
